Without a doubt!  Joe, the founder of Oregon Home Check, is a retired deputy sheriff with nearly 30 years of law enforcement experience.  During Joe's career, he worked closely with the community, whether responding to a burglary in progress, a shooting, a neighbor problem or even a lost wallet.  Joe worked hard to ensure that community members were treated with courtesy and respect.  

Joe's love for the community guided him in forming the Citizen Patrol volunteer program to act as extra "eyes and ears" for law enforcement.   The volunteers became a trusted part of the Corbett, Oregon community.  If you're considering our service, please know that honesty and integrity are paramount.   You'll receive a service, knowing that your home is being watched by a Professional that holds trust and integrity above all else.

Having a "home check" or caretaker service while you're away a great way to ensure the care of your home and property.  We've all heard stories of burst pipes in the winter, failed heating and cooling systems during the extremes of summer and winter, or even the story of a critter that nested in someone's home.  Our regularly scheduled inspections can ensure that problems are recognized and corrected quickly or prevented altogether.  Our proactive approach can help save you money in the long run.

Services are offered at a flat rate starting at $55 for a 1-time check within Redmond and Eagle Crest.  This fee generally includes a 1-on-1 visit at your home prior to your departure.  Central Oregon locations outside of Redmond and Eagle Crest may have a travel fee.  We cater to your needs and can provide daily checks or even just once per month checks.  If you need Home Checks over a prolonged period of time, the rate may be reduced.  

Enhanced Services are also available.  These services include extra plant waterings, starting vehicles, meeting with a contractor or vendor and retrieving an unexpected package outside of a normal home check. We'll even feed the cat and change the kitty litter box! 

Flat rates generally apply to homes of 3000 square feet or less on about half an acre or less.  A homeowner with a larger home, lot or numerous outbuildings will likely cost more due to the time it takes to check the premises. Please contact Joe to discuss your service request and cost.

If you own a rental property, Oregon Home Check is unique from property management companies in that we don't take a percentage of your rental income.  All of our services are charged at a flat rate.

If a repair emergency is discovered at your home, repairs will only be made after your approval.  Oregon Home Check can work from a list of trusted vendors and arrange to meet with the vendor on-site.  

No problem. We're glad to assist your guests with anything they may need around the home.  We can also coordinate for a cleaning service when visitors depart.  However, Oregon Home Check is not a property management service for short term rentals or Airbnb's.  

There are many variables that determine whether a damage claim will be covered by your insurance.  Issues such as a frozen or burst water pipe, a backed-up sewage pipe or mold can cause extensive damage if not noticed in a timely manner.  If an insurance company determines that neglect or delayed awareness contributed to the problem, it's possible that your claim may be denied. Oregon Home Check provides photos and a visitation narrative on our Home Status Reports after every inspection.  These Reports may assist you when dealing with your insurance company.
